The Lord Kitchener Memorial Holiday Centre http://www.lordkitchenersmemorialholidaycentre.co.uk is a unique Suffolk charity overlooking the sea in South Lowestoft, offering hotel style holiday accommodation to ex-service men and woman, their spouses or partners, non service widows and widowers of ex service men and women.
The Hotel is open from April through to October and offers accommodation consisting of ten twin-bedded rooms with en-suite bathrooms two of which have walk-in showers. The remainder have all the usual bathroom facilities with an over-bath shower and all the rooms are on the first or second floor. There are two television lounges and one quieter reading lounge which has a small library. A compact lift serves the ground, first and second floors and it will accept a folded wheelchair but it is too narrow for a wheelchair in use.
There are several steps up to the front door of the building and also some up to the dining room. Guests should be reasonably mobile and able to cope with a few steps but there is ramped access at the rear of the building. Two mobility scooters are available to hire and a folding wheelchair is available free of charge but all must be pre-booked.
Half board is provided with a full English breakfast and a three course evening meal in our air-conditioned dining room. There are tea and coffee facilities in all rooms and free WiFi.

The booking form will require your Service number and details of Unit in which you served. British ex service and ex merchant service men and women are eligible to stay and this extends to those who served in Commonwealth forces.
Short Breaks can be taken: Friday – Monday or Monday – Friday
Bed and Breakfast for a minimum of 2 nights. Starting from £42 per night for a couple sharing.
Rates for 2016 – per week half board
Ex-service £165.00
Non ex-service partners £205.00
Single supplement £20.00
Widows/Widowers of Ex-Service £205.00 per week
A £30 per person deposit is due when returning the booking form which the Manager will acknowledge on receipt.
The balance is payable 8 weeks prior to your arrival but the Manager will send a reminder before this date.
