Rotherham Hospital Open Day …..

Fun and games, learning and tours, at first Hospital open day

Rotherham Hospital is throwing open the doors and inviting the public to ‘come and see’ what goes on inside at its first-ever open day on Saturday November 30, between 10am-3pm.

The hospital is hoping to pull in the crowds with a mixture of fun and games – including the chance to have a go at learning clinical skills. There’s also a rare opportunity to go ‘behind the scenes’ with tours of parts of the hospital that are usually off-limits.

Chief Nurse at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, Angela Wood, explained: “This is the public’s hospital and we’re hoping we can give people a flavour of what we do here with a mixture of fun and learning activities, all put on by our magnificent staff.

“The open day is also a brilliant opportunity for young people – or anyone contemplating a career in the NHS – to come and learn about the huge variety of opportunities that are available,” she said.

“With more than 4,000 staff, the Trust is one of the largest employers in the Rotherham area and the hospital touches so many people’s lives.

“In fact, there can’t be many people in the town that have not been through the door here at some stage, whether as a patient or just visiting someone. It will be a nice change for people to be able to instead come here for fun and perhaps a bit of learning too.”
