On Friday 28 August the MCVC were please to host the team from NCS who have been doing work on our behalf as part of their volunteering programme. The result of their significant efforts were presented by Holly Goodyear and her team. This included some fantastic art work which will make a significant improvement to our outreach trailer. In addition they distributed nearly a thousand handouts in town!
Possibly the most impact of their visit was the announcement of how much they had raised for the MCVC over a couple of weeks of work – £1,000! This was a stunning bit of news and a great effort from a fantastic team. The MCVC members were the last to contribute to the raffle – prizes were tickets to a Rotherham match, and a signed ball. We are grateful to RUFC for their contribution of prizes. Some consternation ‘in the ranks’ when Mark Julian (Ex 3 RHA) pulled out Col Mac’s number (Ex 3 RHA) – we had to go to the video ref, maj Hunt to confirm no cap badge preferences had occurred! The signed ball will be kept as part of our Christmas raffle.
