It was a great pleasure for the MCVC outreach team to be ‘On parade’ at the Millers ground on Saturday. Miller Bear called in to meet the veterans team of Bill and Dennis veterans of the Royal Artillery and Chris who served in the RAF. The MCVC also formed a wreath laying party who looked immaculate as they marched on to the pitch and laid a wreath before they and a large crowd observed a period of respectful silence in memory of the fallen.
Many of the veterans remained to see the Millers come out on top of a hard fought match. After a goal by Swansea after 25 minutes, Rotherham scored from 2 penalties in the 79th & 87th minute! A great win and we hope our veterans support helped?
The MCVC would like to thank the Millers – Team, management and all staff for the great support they provide for veterans of Rotherham which extend well beyond the football season. May thanks form us all!
