Following the Rotherham Military Community Veteran’s Centres’ (MCVC) Liberating the Digitally Isolated program last year they have been successful in their application for £4,000 to the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (AFCFT) through the Veterans Should Not Be Forgotten (VSNBF) program for funding to purchase 10 Tablets to loan to Veterans Self Isolating. It was identified early during the lock-down that whilst a weekly telephone call is welcome it is the face to face contact that they most of all miss, this will offer the Veterans the contact, via various social media platforms, that they have become accustomed to over the years with our weekly drop-in’s at Silverwood Miners Welfare Social Club every Friday and bi-weekly Saturday Veterans Breakfast Club at the Toby Carvery.
