Flu clinic (Drive through/walk through) volunteer

Role :- Flu clinic  (Drive through/walk through) volunteer

 

This will be a limited time role;  supporting a drive /walk through flu vaccination Clinic in central Rotherham.

 

Dates and times – these are likely to be 7th 8th 9th and 12th of October, all to start at 8.30 and run through to 3pm approximately, though some may extend to 6pm(please note these are being finalised at the moment, so there may be some variation in these).

Role description:       During October we will be offering a drive-thru flu clinic to priority patients from  several  practices   at the Herringthorpe Playing Fields site

As a Flu Clinic Support Volunteer you may be asked to do any of the following tasks

·        meeting and greeting patients who arrive by car or on foot,

·        checking people in  and completing a checklist

·        directing them in to the vaccination lanes

·        providing  support to the nursing team and generally helping the sessions run smoothly.

You will need to attend a briefing before the start of your first session.

You will be interacting with people at a 2 metre distance, PPE will be provided and a high-vis jacket.  Please note you will need to wear appropriate weather-proof clothing, as there is no shelter on the site.  You will also need to wear a face mask for the whole session

You will be offered volunteer sessions in approximately4 hour blocks, though there will be some flexibility.

There are toilet facilities and hand sanitizer onsite however there is no provision for refreshments

This role will be of interest to anyone who would like to gain experience working alongside a nursing team in a healthcare environment and who would like to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable people.

      Not suitable for under 16’s
