Swinton Lock Activity Centre is a charity based at the side of the canal in Swinton Rotherham, like everyone else we recognise the last 6 months has had an effect on some of our most vulnerable people getting out into the community. As part of the work we deliver we offer a selection of boat handling training qualifications to individuals/groups following this all participants are offered an opportunity to join our volunteer team to help us deliver our boat trips to members of our communities which includes elderly care homes, children with disabilities, families etc to give those people the experience of been out on the water, learning about our environment and the local history.
We currently have some funding which will allow us to offer boat handling training to 3 people at no cost, we would like to offer this to 3 people from the armed forces community.
