BBC Radio Sheffield journalist Andy Kershaw called in to the MCVC to find out what we do and how we have been putting the Coalfield Regeneration Trust (CRT) grant to good use. Andy interviewed Mac McPherson, our brace of ‘Mark’s’ and Steve B-B. He already knows Ted (as do most people in Rotherham!) and he met several members of our drop in group.
It is great to see an interest being generated about our group, and it was a fantastic opportunity for us to publicly than the CRT not only for the generous grant support, but for their support in our request to make some changes after we found that some of the training we planned to do could be done free of charge (thanks also to RMBC!) The grant has allowed us to provide some much needed computer support, funded the room hire cost and will now help us continue to improve our valuable outreach service in our local communities.
Andy was a charming visitor and we offer our grateful thanks for his interest. Thanks also to local BBC Radio Sheffield who do a great job which is very much appreciated and an important part of what we pay our licence fee for.
