The South Yorkshire Transport Museum have kindly offered to host a visit by the MCVC to the museum on Friday 27th September.
They have an impressive display of vehicles and artefacts, including some military vehicles, which I’m sure will stir the memories of many of our members and find interesting. In addition, their curatorial staff have been preparing a special WW2 display which has its official launch on 10th November;- Remembrance Sunday. They also have a display of items, not all transport-related, which have been selected to stimulate the memories of some of the senior members of our organisation. More information can be found at: https://www.sytm.co.uk/
They have kindly offered to pick us up from Silverwood Miners & Welfare Club at 11:00 and return us after the visit on one of their double decker bus’s, again a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
The trip is FREE of charge and open to all veterans, members and carers.
