REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY PARADE AND SERVICE 10TH NOVEMBER, 2019

- GENERAL
A service will be held at Rotherham Minster at 09.45 hours. On completion of the service parade will march to War Memorial in Clifton Park for Memorial Service (Silence at 11.00 hours) followed by wreath laying ceremony.
- FORM OF PARADE
All marching contingents will fall in at 09.00 hours on Effingham Street under the instructions of the Parade Marshall.
At 09.05 hours the British Legion Standard bearers will march into position.
On arrival, the Mayor, Council and Civic bodies will join the rear of the Parade.
Under command by the Parade Marshall the Parade will move off.
- PARADE PROCEDURE
The Parade will move off in Column of Route via Effingham Street, College Street, High Street, Corporation Street then turn right into Upper Millgate right into Church Street.
As the Parade enters into Upper Millgate it will open order in succession of contingents from the front and halt independently.
Contingents will turn inwards and dress off to line the route.
The Mayor, Council and Civic bodies will enter Church through the lined route. The Parade will follow from the rear and enter Church.
- CHURCH SERVICE – As per printed Order of Service.
- PARADE TO WAR MEMORIAL
The parade will leave the Church and fall in on High Street. When ready to move off the Parade Commander will escort the Mayor and VIP’s to join the Parade.
Under command by the Parade Marshall the Parade will move off to the War memorial.
At the junction of Doncaster Gate and Catherine Street – Veterans will fall-in at the rear of the parade.
On arrival at the entrance to Clifton Park the band will counter march in Doncaster Road to play the parade into the War Memorial, the band will then march in to the rear of the Parade. The Parade will halt in positions of Army to right, Navy to the left and alternate as directed by the Parade Marshall.
Wreath layers to fall in as directed by Parade staff. All contingents turn inwards.
DRESS
Uniforms – No. 2’s Band to form in the centre to the rear of the veterans/dignitaries.

- WAR MEMORIAL SERVICE – As per printed Order of Service.
(a) The Mayor, Council and Civic bodies will return direct to the Town Hall, Moorgate Street in preparation for the Parade March Past.
- PARADE REFORM
After the Service the Parade will reform as directed by the Parade staff.
- PARADE ROUTE AND MARCH PAST
The Parade will move off in Column of Route via High Street, left up Moorgate Street past the Saluting Dais, then halt under directions of Parade staff.

As each contingent reaches the marker in Moorgate Street eyes right as they pass the Saluting Dais.
The Parade will continue and disperse under the instructions of the Parade Commander.
